Subject: Can you help the homeless of Lancashire?

Hi,

My names Wesley Hall and I'm writing this E-Mail to get as many like-minded individuals, groups, organisation, charities and services together to help eradicate homelessness in our County.

Before you read this E-mail, I want you to take a few moments out of your schedule and watch this short video… To see what we're doing… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVpc8eOBRV0

East Lancashire has the highest number of empty homes in the country, yet homelessness is a severe problem here. We're hoping to network and develop a model of strategic plans to facilitate the needs of homeless people here in a bid to get as many of them off the streets… Permanently. There's a whole range of homelessness, so we need to address each problem and tackle them logically with action.

We're holding a meeting for everyone who would like to get involved and feel it would be beneficial if you and could attend as we're hoping to get as many people together who can work towards making this happen.

It's at 'Energy Zone' Community Centre, Fishmoor Drive, Blackburn on the 21st June 2014 between 12 noon and 1:30pm and there's already many people attending. If you use Facebook, please have a look at the event:

We NEED your HELP as we're out weekly again to #‎helpthehomeless and we need donations of things like snacks (Pot Noodles, Flapjacks, Nuts, Soup, Sausage Rolls, Sandwiches, Crisps etc), sleeping bags, hot drinks supplies, flasks, new underwear, coats, gloves/hats, toothbrushes/toothpaste and anything else you can think of... Even if it's something that could benefit someone we get into housing who would need furniture etc... EVERYTHING helps and we'll arrange collection or you can drop off at The-Lord Nelson Pub, Nelson or Pendle Games UK in the Arndale... Or even just turn up on wednesday when we're going to be out helping the homeless.

Please invite all of your friends to our event:https://www.facebook.com/events/1459415270943801/

We'll be meeting this Wednesday at 7:30pm in Burnley (At the side of the Library on the carpark) and then at 8:30pm in Blackburn (At the side of Blackburn Fire Station on the carpark) as we do every week to provide the homeless of East Lancs with outreach support, housing advice, food, drinks and much more!!!

The more people who get involved, the better... We need to eradicate homelessness on our streets. It's 2014!!!!!

It all started with this...http://www.burnleyexpress.net/news/campaigns/mercy-mission-to-help-homeless-in-storms-1-6446182

Then a few more came...

And last week...

Each week is becoming stronger and the people involved now are forming a charity so that they can raise funds for a mobile soup kitchen (Catering Trailer) and a van so that we can transport people to available rooms in emergency accommodation and move the mobile soup kitchen around East Lancs.

At present we're just starting out, but we need companies in and around Burnley & Blackburn to act as 'drop off points' for our kind donations. If anyone could help, we'd be appreciative!

If you have ever been homeless, work within the homelessness sector already or simply want to get involved because you care...

Please add me on here (I can't reply to people who aren't on my friends list! or simply turn up on wednesday night with a few bits so that we can make an impact and help those who are less fortunate.

We've been offered a property to develop into an emergency hostel for those who 'slip the net' and can't get into the ones available and would also welcome generous offers from tradesmen who are willing to help us renovate it into a fully operational emergency accommodation provider.

Follow our progress on:http://www.facebook.com/help.the.homeless.east.lancs and http://www.facebook.com/iwantchange

People are dying on our streets each night and over 80,000 children will be homeless this Christmas in the UK if we don't do something to stop it. If you know of any properties for rent that would take a council bond or would be willing to house-share, let us know… ANY help from anyone is appreciated and we're hoping to develop a database of affordable, good standard and safe housing accommodation. Basically a letting site without silly 'admin fees'! :-)

REMEMBER: 'Homelessness' can affect ***ANYONE*** - It could happen to you!!!

Help The Homeless - East Lancashire aims to address issues such as unemployment with opportunities for re-training and self-employment workshops as well as a whole array of other opportunities. Substance misuse and offending is a huge problem for many of those people who are deemed 'sick' or 'unemployed' and many seem to think that they 'can't get a job' because of that. ABSOLUTE NONSENSE! We can help them rebuild their lives, gain employment or even setup their own business!

Working with other initiatives such as #thelighthouseproject, Newground, SafeSpace Pendle, Pendle Council, Burnley Council, Rossendale Council, Ribble Valley Borough Council, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Nightsafe, Blackburn Foodbank, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, Blackburn College and all of the people who work in the homelessness sector we aim to make sure that the quality of life in East Lancs is much greater than other areas, and hopefully they will replicate.

By facilitating a whole network of like-minded individuals to come together with one ethos... To get people off the streets, rebuilding their lives, making positive changes.

It may sound simple, but it's going to take a LOT of strategic innovative like-minded people to get involved... And for that reason we're holding our meeting to discuss our plans and brain-storm ideas for the future.

If you could attend along with any of your friends, family or colleagues then we'd really appreciate your input into what we believe will become a fantastic project to work on that will inevitably save lives.

Thankyou x

We don't want money - #WEWANTCHANGE

Even if you can't attend, please forward this E-Mail on to people who you think would like to get involved. With the right people working towards one goal… To get people off the street, rebuilding lives… We can do this!

Kind Regards

Wesley Hall
