What can we do about Poverty in Lancashire?

Church Action on Poverty and Together Lancashire invite you to an evening to explore the causes and issues... and campaigning responses

with Liam Purcell...Communications Manager – Church Action on Poverty

at Fulwood Methodist Church....

Garstang Road/Watling Street Road. Preston PR2 8EA

on Tuesday October 8th

7 for coffee and nibbles – 7.30pm meeting begins

Exploring issues including

  • The Impact of Welfare Reform

  • Wonga and the other legal loan sharks

  • Benefits Sanctions and destitution

  • A Living Wage

  • Zero hours contracts

  • Fair Taxes

This is an event aimed at anyone living in Lancashire (including Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen) who is concerned about local poverty. We are specifically inviting anyone who is either an existing or potential supporter of Church Action on Poverty and everyone in our Together Lancashire networks. We are hoping this may lead to the formation of a Church Action on Poverty local action group.

The event is free... but we will be asking for donations (suggested £2 - £5 depending on your available resources to cover expenses, light refreshments and the cost of booking the room)...

To ensure your place book you free ticket on EventBrite. https://povertyinlancashire.eventbrite.co.uk/
