Dear stakeholder
As you may know, the Care and Urgent Needs Support Scheme (CaUNSS) is the County Council's response to the ending by the Department of Work and Pensions of the Discretionary Social Fund and the transfer of responsibility and resources to upper tier local authorities.
A working group of County Councillors and officers are currently considering the operation of the scheme. The scheme has been in place for a year and it is therefore appropriate to consider whether the original objectives and policy framework remain appropriate and also whether there may be more appropriate means of meeting the same objectives. The working group will report back to the County Council's Cabinet with recommendations.
At this stage, I am seeking your views on ways in which you think the scheme could be improved. Ideally, we'd like you to tell us three things that we could do better.
If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact me.
Can I have your reply by the end of May please.
Regards
