| Dear Friend, |
| Poverty is a reality for many people in England. Around 13 million people, including 3.5 million children, are estimated to be living in poverty. All over this country, local churches and groups are already doing excellent work in local communities to address the issues that they find there. At Church Urban Fund, we multiply these efforts to make lasting change and transform more lives. Lives like Mel's.

| Mel's story Mel, a mum of two young boys, found herself financially excluded, in debt and in fear of what would happen to her family. "The kids would be coming home from school and they'd be looking in the fridge and they'd be like 'You've never got nothing in Mum'. It was horrible – I sat there and cried most days." | This is just one story among thousands of lives transformed through the support of local churches working together to tackle poverty.
#GiveMelFive This #GivingTuesday, why not consider giving to Church Urban Fund to ensure more lives like Mel can be transformed. - Give Mel five pounds; text MELS05 £5 to 70070 to donate £5 or make an online donation.
- Give Mel five minutes, either through prayer, action by helping a 'Mel' in your area or through volunteering. See more ideas.
