Building on Community Strengths using ABCD Tools

The training provides an introduction to Asset-Based Community Development as a perspective that builds on capacities rather than on needs to support long-term change at the local level. The course:

 Provides an overview of core ABCD terms, such as co-production, social capital and abundant communities

 Explains the advantages of mobilising the gifts, skills and capacities of local individuals, associations and institutions.

 Introduces effective asset mapping tools

 Outlines the role of connectors

At the end of the course participants will be equipped with ABCD tools to support local groups and organisations in their endeavour to build sustainable, resilient and healthy communities.
