Dear All, here is a message from Anna Ruddick of Livability. Livability provide excellent resources for Christian community engagement so well worth reading on...
Skilled up for getting stuck in!
We all long to make an impact in our communities. Jesus 'went around doing good' (Acts 10:38) and as his people we also want to see needs met, vulnerable people find hope and for those we live alongside to discover the love of Jesus.
Livability is a Christian charity seeking to address marginalisation in all its forms. Through training and equipping churches to ask "Who is my neighbour?" and then to consider "How is my neighbour?", we help churches contribute to creating livable communities in which all, including the most vulnerable experience the justice, peace and joy of God's kingdom.
Are you feeling skilled up?
We would love to hear from you! We are conducting a national survey to identify the key training needs of Christians working or volunteering within their communities. You might volunteer with a drop in cafe or food bank, or work for a local church reaching out into the community, we would really value your thoughts on any training you may have already received, and what you think would be helpful to support you in your community engagement. The survey will take around 15 minutes to complete and all participants will be put into a draw and the first 15 selected at random will receive a copy of Dave Andrews' excellent community development handbook Compassionate Community Work.

I am also looking to meet with local groups to do a one hour consultation on training needs, if you would be willing to participate in one of these groups please do get in touch, my email address is anna-ruddick@outlook.com (mailto:anna-ruddick@outlook.com)
Many thanks!
Anna
